Conference presentations to demonstrate the power of Lancope's flow-based monitoring solution for defending against the most dangerous, stealthy cyber-attacks
Cisco Live -- Lancope, Inc., a leader in flow-based security and network performance monitoring, will be featured in two presentations at the upcoming Cisco Live conference taking place June 10-14 in San Diego, Calif. By leveraging the advanced flow analysis capabilities of Lancope's StealthWatch® System, Cisco and other Global 2000 enterprises have dramatically improved their network and security operations, effectively protecting their infrastructure against even the most sophisticated cyber threats.
In a presentation on Monday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m. PT, Cisco CSIRT Manager Gavin Reid will discuss how Cisco leverages NetFlow and StealthWatch to significantly reduce the time between problem identification and resolution. The session, entitled "Cisco CSIRT: Real NetFlow Use Case with Lancope's StealthWatch," will demonstrate how Cisco gained network visibility, accelerated incident response, improved forensic analysis and increased operational efficiencies by implementing StealthWatch to collect and analyze NetFlow.
In a second discussion on Monday at noon, Cisco Technical Marketing Engineer Matt Robertson will explain how the Cisco Cyber Threat Defense Solution, including Lancope's StealthWatch, proactively identifies elusive threats within the network interior. The Cisco Cyber Threat Defense Solution allows security analysts to understand the "who, what, when, where, why and how" of network traffic and easily identify anomalous behaviors. This approach provides administrators with pervasive insight into the nature of suspicious activity in the access and distribution layers of the network where traditional security platforms are not typically present.
As part of the Cisco Cyber Threat Defense Solution, Lancope's StealthWatch collects and analyzes NetFlow, IPFIX and other flow data inherent in network infrastructure to provide comprehensive, end-to-end visibility into the full spectrum of internal and external threats. Utilizing sophisticated behavioral analysis instead of canned signatures, StealthWatch can detect advanced persistent threats (APTs) and other zero-day attacks, as well as internal risks such as policy violations and data leakage - at a fraction of the cost of conventional monitoring solutions. With Lancope and Cisco, organizations can successfully uncover and thwart network reconnaissance, internal malware propagation, command-and-control traffic and data theft attempts within their networks.
StealthWatch is scalable to meet the needs of even the largest, most dynamic networks, analyzing up to 3 million flows per second, and easily extends to protect next-generation infrastructure including high-speed, virtualized, IPv6 and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments. Advanced StealthWatch capabilities including identity, application and mobile device awareness, as well as automatic threat prioritization and mitigation, further extend the value of NetFlow for expedited network and security troubleshooting.
"As both a valued Lancope customer and strategic technology partner, Cisco truly understands the benefits of StealthWatch for strengthening enterprise security postures," said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope. "We look forward to having the merits of our system demonstrated at Cisco's largest educational and training event of the year."
